Valeria Levitin, originally from Russia, is thought to be the thinnest woman in the world. She says her malnourished figure should serve as a stark warning about the dangers of eating disorders.
The 39-year-old, pictured by the beach near her Monaco home, strolling round town, and in her teenage years when she harboured ambitions to be a model, believes the roots of her condition lie with her mother, who was terrified Valeria would grow up obese.
