Funke Akindele, Jenifa, to co-host this year’s LaffMatazz

This year’s edition of laffMatazz will hold in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
On Easter Sunday- March 31, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, Nollywood Actress and Globacom Brand Ambassador, Funke Akindele-Oloyede, will co-host the comedy show, LaffMatazz, with Gbenga Adeyinka and Friends.
Popularly known as ‘Jenifa’ or ‘Sulia’ owing to the funny role she played in her blockbuster movie, The Return of Jenifa, which made over N35 million at the cinema, Funke Akindele will co-host the show with the convener of the event, Gbenga Adeyinka.
Speaking with PREMIUMTIMES on the choice of Funke Akindele as the event’s co-host, Gbenga said “The choice of Funke Akindele was a no-brainer, she is highly talented and she is no doubt, a role model to many. The youths and adults love her; with Funke, you can never go wrong.
“She has evolved over the years since she came into public consciousness in that popular sitcom ‘I Need To Know’ which was the toast of many at the time”.
He added that “the people of Ibadan would love to have Funke in their midst, we urge them to get their tickets early as they will see another side of the talented “Sulia Kan, Aiyetoro Kan” as many often refer to her.”
This year’s edition will feature performances from top stars like HKN star, Davido, Capital Femi, May D, Dammy Krane, LKT, Skales, Jaywon, Seyi Shay. Others are Seriki, Jayru, Obama, Eteye, Laffup, SB Live Band, Adetoun of Project Fame, Explicit Dance Troupe, Kayefi, Isaac Geralds, Peteru, Baba Gboin.
Comedians expected at the event are Seyi Law, Lepacious Bose, Omobaba, Owen Gee, and DJ Sexcy.
