Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai sensationally returned to
football ‘action’ yesterday nearly 48 hours after he was discharged
from hospital following Monday night’s scary incident when he reportedly
slumped in his office and was rushed to Toki Hospital off Adeniran
Ogunsanya street in Surulere,Lagos.Rufai
made an unexpected appearance yesterday morning at the Obafemi Awolowo
stadium (formerly Liberty Stadium),along Ring Road in Ibadan to
supervise the on-going Nesstle Milo Football Clinic.
Complete Sports was informed by Ralph Chidozie George,a journalist
from the venue of the football clinic that did not show any sign of a
man who flirted with death a few days earlier as he took a near active
part in the clinic.
‘Rufai made an unexpected appearance here today (yesterday) to take
charge of his pet project, the Nesstle Milo Football Clinic. He didn’t
show any sign of a man who was reported to have slipped into coma
moments after he slumped in his office on Monday night. We were
pleasantly surprised when he arrived and decided to be a part of the
clinic. Many people here expected him to just take a sit somwhere and
watch proceedings but he instead got fully involved’’,revealed the
former Brila FM man.
Rufai’s brother, Bruce, later confirmed to us that the former
Nigerian goalkeeper indeed arrived Ibadan on Thursday for the Football
Clinic.
“Yes, my brother (Peter Rufai) arrived Ibadan today (yesterday) for the Milo Clinic”,Bruce said.
The football clinic starts at 8.am and ends at 3pm each day.It will come to a close tomorrow at the same venue.
