Fally Ipupa ‘Coming Home’

Reputed for her passion for promoting a high class Francophone/World music brand across the continent, the Lagos based Effrakata Entertainment is set to put some sunshine into the hearts of Lagosians as the nation celebrates her Independence Day, come September 30, 2012.
To this end, the company is staging a never before seen pre-Independence musical fiesta, tagged ‘Africa Unity Concert”, with a massive potpourri of world class acts of African descent to come together under one roof to celebrate the Freedom/Independence Day of our great nation despite all the challenges we face
This is largely aimed at not only uniting and celebrating Nigeria but the continent as a whole through a unique African brand of music, boosting her culture and tourism potentials.
Effrakata Entertainment, which has over the years carved a niche for herself as a company that caters for the entertainment needs of the matured minds, Captains of industries and members of the Diplomatic corps and their families, was the brain behind the last outing of Salif Keita in Nigeria in 2011.
The concert is billed to take place at the prestigious Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos. It will be a gathering of African stars as it promises to be highly entertaining.
We scooped that among artistes pencilled for the event, include the sassy, Fally Ipupa who is a singer, songwriter and the baddest Ndombolo dancer in the business.
Fally Ipupa is originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo but presently lives in Paris. He used to be a part of the band of Koffi Olomidé, Quartier Latin International, from 1999 to 2006 before embarking on a solo career. His first album was Droit chemin released in 2006, and his second album Arsenal de Belles Melodies (A2BM) was released in 2009.
One of the fastest rising African stars Fally Ipupa is not new to Nigeria. He has visited a couple of times and was recently in Lagos, for the MTV Live show held at Tribeca on Friday, April 1, 2011
HE WILL be on stage alongside other Nigerian artistes like J Martins, Ara, the female drummer and Ashley Stephanie of Cameroun and a host of others. (Source Vangard)
