Nigerian superstars, Davido and Tiwa Savage have been nominated in this year’s BET awards. The talented Naija artistes will go head to head alongside other African acts for the award of Best International Act Africa category.  BET has announced the nominations for the “BET Awards” 2014.

Nominations were announced in 20 categories, selected by BET’s Voting Academy comprised of a group of respected entertainment professionals in the fields of television, film, music, social media, digital marketing, sports journalism, public relations, creative arts and fans.

The “BET Awards” 2014 will take place on Sunday June 29, 2014 at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, CA. The 2014 BET Awards will premiere on BET International in Africa on 1 July at 21:00 CAT.

“This year’s nominees represent the best of the culture,” said Stephen Hill, BET’s President of Music Programming and Specials. “It’s great to see our talented new artist’s right alongside our more beloved ones with long careers. We appreciate our BET Awards nomination committee, over 300 strong, for their efforts and congratulate all the nominees.”

The Hotel Personel Who Leaked the Jay Z Elevator Video Caught and Fired

The Standard Hotel has announced that they have discovered the person who leaked the tape that showed Beyonce's sister Solange hitting, kicking and spitting at Jay Z during an argument in a hotel elevator. The hotel subsequently fired the person behind the leak, but did not identify them to the press.


According to the Associated Press:

The Standard Hotel said the person had been terminated for "breaching the security polices of the hotel and recording the confidential CCTV video."

The hotel said after the video was first aired that it was "shocked and disappointed" by the security breach. It said Wednesday that it will turn over "all available information to criminal authorities."

Reports say the worker at the Standard Hotel must have made the video with a cell phone that recorded images from a monitor in a back room at the hotel. TMZ reportedly paid the person who leaked the tape $250,000.

Folorunsho Alakija Shares Her Success (Testimonies)

One of the richest black women alive, Folorunsho Alakija has shared the testimony of her success. She says she was turned down 3 times and it took her 3 years to achieve part of what she wanted, but it paid off after all. She also explained how she had to put God in between and told Him, if He blesses her, she will serve him till the end of time. Her words after the cut.

It was not a planned thing at all. A friend actually contacted me that some people wanted to buy crude oil and she was wondering if I will be able to get them to make the purchase. I got an appointment with the Minister of Petroleum and he told me that it's not the way to go because there wasn't much profit in selling it and because it's a foreign company that Nigeria is imposed at selling its crude to international market. That it will be better to look at other things. I went back to my friend and told her what the Minister said.

Then it seemed as if that door was shut but something else came up. I chose not to walk away so I went back to offer another service which was catering services. And yet again I was shut down. I did not give up, I just knew that something had to come out of it. I spoke again to some friends in the oil industry and I was told to ask to be able to supply transportation services for those who are purchasing crude within the country but I was shut down again by the minister.

Then the last time I went to see the Minister, he told me that the government wants Nigerians to be involved in Nigeria's exploration and production. That it has been the multinationals that have been taking advantage of the oil business in Nigeria. So I was like OK...probably this is not the likes of me.

I felt like there was no point coming back but honestly, I'm not the type to take no for an answer. So I began to ask questions, I began to knock on doors, I began to seek information and in the long run, I applied for an oil bloc. But all through that time, the ministers have been changed 3 times so each time they are changed, it takes me back to the bottom of the ladder and I will have to start all over again but I still did not give up.

The whole thing started in January 1991 till the end of 1993. I kept going, kept going, kept praying, in-between I became a born-again Christian. That was when I knew the lord. When I was 40, I decided to enter a covenant with the lord that if he blesses me, that I will serve him for the rest of my life and then I got the oil license. It eventually came after 3years but I did not get the one I wanted."

Speaking about her husband’s role in her business, she said;

"My husband was solidly behind me. There were many times that I will go back home crying and he would tell me to stop crying and he would tell me to stop crying that after all, we are not starving, we are very comfortable. I had his support financially, morally because I had a settled home. I had a balanced relationship with my Husband and my children. All that helped me to dare to make a difference."

Principal- 190 schoolgirls remain missing, not 77

About 190 schoolgirls remain missing after being abducted last week by Boko Haram insurgents, their head teacher, Asabe Kwabura, told the British Broadcasting Corporation on Monday.

She said the parents of 230 girls had reported them missing but that 40 had managed to escape from the insurgents.

The 190 figure is far more than the 77 given earlier by government officials.

The Associated Press had reported that parents of the pupils of Government Secondary School, Chibok told Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima when he visited on Monday, that 234 girls were abducted.

When news first emerged of the kidnap last Tuesday, initial reports said more than 200 students were abducted, but state officials said the correct figure was about 130.

The students, aged between 16 and 18 were about to sit their final year examinations when the insurgents invaded their school.

Kwabura told the BBC Hausa service that about 40 fled their captors.

“None of these girls was rescued by the military; they managed to escape on their own from their abductors,” she said.

Asked about the conflicting reports on the number of students kidnapped, she said: “Only reports that come from us is the truth and based on the register we have on paper.”

She had previously called on the kidnappers to “have mercy on the students”.

Before visiting Chibok on Monday, Shettima said that eight more girls had escaped over the weekend, meaning a total 52 had fled.

One of the parents, Shettima Haruna, told Shettima that they had been having sleepless nights since the incident happened.

He added that at a time, they summoned courage to visit Sambisa Forest to search for the missing girls.

The parent said, “We want to seize this opportunity to thank you (governor) for the visit and for identifying with us in this sorrowful moment; but we want to emphasise that we are not happy with this development.In as much as we continue to pray for the safe return of our daughters, we are appealing to the government and security operatives to please intensify the search for our missing innocent children.”

Another parent, Mallam Amos Chiroma, said they saw a lot of strange things at the forest while searching for their daughters.

He said, “When we were in the bushes of Sambisa, we came across different make -shift camps suspected to be deserted by the insurgents.”

The parents of the abducted girls, who could not hold back tears, appealed to the government to ensure that their abducted girls were freed.

Our correspondent in Borno State, who was in Chibok, observed that most of the school buildings were totally burnt down by the insurgents.

Shettima, who was equally moved to tears, promised that his government would deploy all human and material resources towards rescuing the girls.

He said, “They can burn physical structures but they cannot destroy our souls. Patient is the ultimate solution to the problem and I will ask us to have patience. We will soon get over this,”

The confusion over the numbers comes after the military last week said that all but eight of the pupils had been rescued before withdrawing its claim a day later.

CBN warns banks, Stop giving customers mutilated notes

The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN has warned that it would no longer tolerate complaints from commercial bank customers over payment of mutilated notes whereas mint notes found their way to the black marketers who sell them out for spraying at social functions.

CBN’s Director, Branch Operations Department, Mrs. Tope Omade who gave the warning during a one-day Customer Forum held in Asaba promised that CBN continue to beam its search light on commercial banks and other allied banks as well as officials of such banks who are involved in the sharp practices of hoarding mint notes and selling same to black marketers, just as she condemned the attitude of some Nigerians who still indulge in spaying naira at social functions in violation of the law banning spraying of the currency.

According to her, “no bank should henceforth pay customers with unfit and mutilated notes. Plans are on to ensure that strict sanctions were meted out on commercial banks that are still dispensing bad, unfit and mutilated currency notes to the public.

We have the serial numbers of all the mint notes in circulation and we are going to make sure that we trace those banks and their officials who are still involved in the shoddy deals of selling those mints to black marketers”.

The Asaba Branch Controller of CBN, Dame Elizabeth Oyibo-Agu in her key-note address on ‘Delivering Customer Service Excellence’, tasked bank officials “to always focus on service delivery,  give the best experience, create unique customer experience, always improve on their experience as well as accord due respect to their customers with strong emphasis on their time and opinions”.

The forum  was attended by representatives of the various commercial banks, Development Money Banks (DMBs), Micro-Finance Banks (MFBs), Bureau de Change (BDCs), Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), among others.

They have said that the Nigerian Economy under President Jonathan has Retrogressed. Is this true?

1] Under President Jonathan Nigeria’s Economy Has Grown To Become The Largest Economy in Africa.

2] In 2009 Nigeria’s Per Capita Income Was $1091.Today it is $1721 and increase of almost 70%.

3] In 2007 Average Life Expectancy in Nigeria Was 47 Years. Today it is 52 Years.

4] In 2010 Inflation in Nigeria Was 15.60%. Today it is 7.9%.

5] In 2007 Maternal Mortality Rate Was 750 per 100,000 Births. Today It Is 580.

Unfulfilled Promises::
It has been confirmed that President Jonathan have Not Fulfill His Promises. This is why it is right to say that President Goodluck Jonathan actually failed Nigerians.

Here are the Facts or achieved evidence so that my readers may trust what I write but verify for themselves:

1] On August 26, 2010, President Jonathan Promised to Privatize Nigeria’s Power Sector After Heavily Investing in Improving It’s Infrastructure.
2] On November 1, 2013, That Promise Was Fulfilled After Successful Bidders Took Delivery Nigeria’s Power Generation and Distribution Companies.

3] Before President Jonathan Ascended to Power The Southeast Had no International Airport. He Promised The Southeast One in 2011.
4] On the 24th of August 2013, The First International Flight Operated by Ethiopian Airlines Landed at the New Akanu Ibiam
International Airport Enugu.

5] In 2011 President Jonathan Promised to Revive the Railways.
By 2012 The Nigerian Railways Corporation Began Operating a Lagos to Kano Service at the Cost of Just N1,500.
In 2013 Rail lines Were Revived From Lagos Port Direct to Kaduna.

6] In 2010, President Jonathan promised to Build at Least One Federal University in 12 States of The Federation That Had No Federal Universities. These Include Bayelsa State, Katsina State, Jigawa State, Taraba, Kogi State, Nasarawa, Ekiti State, Ebony State, Gombe State, Kebbi State, Yobe State and Zamfara States.
Today, ALL of These States Have One Federal University Each.

Note: In 4 years in office, the budget of Education has been increased by 200% to ensure that facilities, quality and environment of learning in Nigeria is improved. The right questions should have been, what have ASUU and NUC done with these billions invested in the last 4 years.

7] In 2011 President Jonathan Promised to Build Schools for Itinerant Scholars in The North Known as Almajiri.
As at Today, 123 Almajiri Model Schools Equipped With Malam’s Quarters, Hostels, Qu’ranic Recitation Hall and Science Laboratories Have Been Completed While 277 Are Awaited.

8] In 2011 President Jonathan Promised to Rebuild or Repair Nigeria’s Roads. About 85% of Nigerians roads are now in good state, reducing the number of deaths and the length of business time wasted on bad roads.

9] n 2011 President Jonathan Promised to Revive Nigeria’s Health Sector. By 2013 His Administration Has Built 3389 Heath Centers Nationwide.
This Administration Built National Cancer Screening Centers Nationwide, including at the
a] Federal Medical Centre, Gusau in Zamfara,
b] The University of Port- Harcourt Teaching Hospital and
c] The National Obstetric Fistula Centre in Abakaliki.

The wicked President Jonathan administration as at 2013
has Modernized the following Hospitals to match International standard.
a] Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital,
b] the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH).
c] the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.
d] Built National Trauma Centers at the University of Abuja,
e] The National Hospital also in Abuja.
These Investments in the Health Sector Led to the First Stem Cell Transplant Surgery Ever in Nigeria at UBTH in 2012.
By October 2013 UCH Performed the First Open Heart Surgery in Nigeria. UNTH Enugu has performed Open Heart Surgery and large scale Kidney transplant.

10] In 2010 President Jonathan Promised to Overhaul Nigeria’s Football and Sports Administration for Better Service Delivery.
10a] In 2013 Nigeria are the African Champions after Winning the
2013 African Cup of Nations in South Africa.
10b] We are Also the World Under 17. Champions After winning The 2013 U-17 Tournament in The UAE.
10c] Nigeria Also Became the First African Nation to Qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

11] In 2010 President Jonathan Promised That Agriculture Would Be Revived.
12] In 2011 Nigeria Imported $11 Billion Worth of Food Especially Rice and Wheat.
13] In 2013, After the Introduction of Cassava Flour and The Duty on Imported Rice Which Led to Massive Local Production, Nigeria’s food Import Bill Has Been Reduced by 77%.
14] Over Million Jobs Have Been Created in the Agriculture Value Chain Since 2011.
14a] The wicked President Kicked 1000s of Fertilizer Middlemen, as they will put out of Business, because he want to crash the the prices to real farmers.
14b] Jonathan bought mobile for farmers and text them message for venues of training, technical supports and vouchers codes to buy Fertilizers at 25% of the officials price.

WHO and FAO stated that Nigeria is amongst only a handful of countries that improved over the previous year In the 2013 Global Hunger Index.

NOTE: In 2012 there was a massive flooding across the food producing states of the federation. The understanding was that there will be relieve materials coming from donor nations, but that was not the case, as The Federal Government Build 1000s of Silo (Food storage) across the Country and this sustained the country til the nest harvest period. The News Media did not mention this development, as it will put the wicked president Jonathan in good light.

15] On the 7th of March 2013, President Jonathan said “my presidential ambition is not worth your blood”. In keeping with this promise politically motivated killing or assassinations have become a thing of the past. In the last 4 years no Nigerian has lost his life, via political assassination as was the case in the past.

16] In 2010, President Jonathan promised Nigerian women that the Nigerian Defense Academy, NDA, would start to admit women.
Today in 2014 NDA is getting ready to admit its third set of female cadets having open its doors to women for the very first time in 2011.

17] In 2011, President Jonathan promised to sign the Hydro Power Areas Development Commission (HYPADEC) Bill into law.
In 2011 he fulfilled this promise and in the 2014 proposed budget the Federal Government has made provision for a take off grant for the institution.

18] In 2010, President Jonathan promised to dredge the River Niger. By 2012 the Federal Government awarded a N36billion Lower River Niger dredging contract to dredge the River Niger from Onitsa in Anambra State to Baro in Niger State. 95% of these projects have been done and some finished and ready for use.

19] In 2011, President Jonathan promised to tackle youth unemployment. On the 10th of October 2011 President Jonathan launched the Youth Enterprise With Innovation in Nigeria (YouWin) initiative which has so far awarded grants of between N2m to N10m to over 3,000 Nigerian youths to start businesses that will employ other youths after receiving Federal Government funded entrepreneurial training.
As at today Thousands of Nigerians youths are in various employment training through the employment of SURE-P funds in various project and training initiates.

The drama coming out of the PSquare household is getting really serious. Yesterday, Jude shared a tweet that sparked fears that all is not well with Africa's beloved singing duo. Today, a source very close to the artiste has revealed that not only are the twins fighting, Peter Okoye wants out of P-Square and they have even gone as far as inviting a lawyer to divide their fortune. As of right now, Peter Okoye doesn't want anything to do with P-Square. He has moved out of Squareville mansion in Omole where he lived with his brothers for years and now lives in Lekki Phase 1 with his wife Lola Omotayo and their children.
Here's what the source, an industry person who knows what's been going on, said:

"Yes they fought this week. Peter even left a mark on Paul's left eye. But the fight wasn't during rehearsal, which rehearsal? Peter has refused to do anything P-Square for weeks now. Forget that he was at his brother's wedding, things are not good between them right now. They were even invited to perform at president Jonathan's wedding but they didn't go.
Peter wants out. He said Paul and Jude are sidelining him. That if they push out 200 songs, 199 would be songs Paul did. That people are now calling him a dancer in P-Square. Peter is really angry. He's even the cool and friendly one between the brothers but he is not himself right now. And then he accused his brother Jude of disrespecting his wife. Peter and Jude haven't spoken in weeks. Peter said Jude has been disrespecting Lola for years and he was done tolerating the BS. In fact Peter said that not only is Lola older than Jude, but that she's also pregnant and Jude was upsetting a pregnant woman.
