Jonathan, Oyedepo, Adeboye to pray for change
President Goodluck Jonathan and Senate President David Mark are expected at a prayer session for the country in Ibadan on September 22.
Also expected are the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, and Pastor David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Ministry.
The Coordinator, Nigeria National Fasting and Prayer Day, Prophet Okoduwa Atorkpa, said the event scheduled for the Liberty Stadium was aimed at seeking God’s intervention in the problems of the country.
He said, “The only way to resolve all problems bedevilling the nation is to call on God to save Nigeria. For Nigeria to experience greater peace, unity and prosperity there must be a forsaking of all that are displeasing to God and also a corresponding return in obedience to God’s revealed will.
“I want to make it clear that no individual or group of persons can save Nigeria except God. The position we are in now is so bleak, so we require the presence of God because the battle in Nigeria today is spiritual.”
On the activities of Boko Haram in the North, he said the worst form of insurgency by any sect, “be it Boko Haram or kidnapping, is corruption, ethnicity and misplaced priority. Our problem is not Boko Haram but corruption on a mega scale”. Punch News.
