The terrorist stole the cleric's car on gunpoint, but unknown to them, he activated the car'ssecurity as they drove away. Mohammed Ali was told by the Boko Haram members that they, wanted "to use his car for God’s work".
The attackers were angered when the car stopped as they drive away. Relative of Mohammed Ali, said that the terrorist came back in motor cycle and shot him dead in his residence. The body of the cleric has been deposited in the mortuary.
