Is Rapper Ikechukwu Missing His Ex (Sarah Ofili)?

Olamide The Hottest Rapper In Nigeria Finally Signs To D'banj Records.

Finally I've got the much anticipated gist. Badoo is now a confirmed member of Eja Nla family. My source, who is a top insider in the crew, told Maurice that it was not a problem getting Olamide to sign on to DB Records.

Olamide is the hottest "thing" in the music industry today and any track that has his voice on it usually becomes a show stopper. D'banj knows this and gave him a mouth watering deal...

The Kokomaster, according to my source, told Olamide that he could still become everything he wanted to become and even more by working under him. He reminded Olamide that he (D'banj) had to work under Kanye West just to get more international exposure and recognition but that he still remains an independent artiste and his own man.

Olamide naturally likes D'banj and feels at home around him. We learnt that he has put pen to paper and is now officially an artiste under D'banj.

What I am trying to say is that I’m fortunate to have proved the medical practitioner wrong in some aspects. Single Lady Duped By A Married Man Of N2.9m

Ladies will save themselves all these troubles of looking for husband by-fire-by-force in their thirties if they learn to be less money conscious and too selective when they are in their twenties:
“The married man deceived the lady to take him to her parents with a view to making his intention known and pick a date for marriage.
“Based on the relationship and trust, she became convinced and entrusted the sum of N2.9 million to him which she wants to use to buy a RAV 4 car. The car was to make their wedding preparations easy but the man collected the money and disappeared."
A Karu Upper Area Court, Abuja, on Thursday denied a 40-year-old married man, Godwin Ochapa, bail for collecting N2.9 million from his lover with a promise to marry her, but absconded.

The accused was arraigned before the presiding judge, Umar Kagarko, on a four-count-charge.
The prosecutor told the court that the accused indicated his interest to marry Misss Nebo Ogochukwu and that based on the promise, she believed that the accused was seriously in love with her.

He said the married man went ahead to introduce Miss Nebo to his elder sister as his wife to be, and fixed a date to enable them travel to her home town in the East for introduction. The lady later discovered that it was all arranged to dupe her.

The offences are punishable under the Penal Code. The presiding judge, Umar Kagarko, adjourned the case to May 6 for hearing of bail application and trial.

How Couples Can Really Get Sex Right

One of the major challenges of a typical couple is how to send the right signals and get the best of each other when it comes to sexual fulfillment. As much as many couples want un-inhibited sexual harmony, the hold of culture, norms and tradition is a major inhibition.
Do you want to put your lover in the same sexual frequency you are in right now?
Well it will help to communicate to your mate the fact that you want sex sooner than later, in a way that will get him or her as fired up as you are. There is one major undeniable fact and that is both men and women love to feel lusted after, and many get an erotic jolt just from hearing their partner confess that they are ‘on heat’ for their lover. Many wives are dying to hear their husband say they look so sexy, even after many childbirths.

To many spouses, especially the ladies, the idea of just ‘ordering’ her to bed and demanding your conjugal right may drain every sexual feeling for the next few weeks. A husband that is under pressure to meet up with some official, financial, health or marital challenges may never respond to repetitive nagging over the fact that he is neglecting his sexual responsibility. A wiser approach can just be you to whisper into your partner’s ear that (1) he or she is incredibly sexy, looking good, best spouse of the year, incomparable partner; and (2) you desperately want him or her to get naked.

Just say something you are certain he or she will NEVER resist. You have to make it a habit to know your spouse, for the more you know your partner the more likely you will hit the right notes. Those words with well-executed touching and tantalizing visual signals should be able to create a sizzling and heavy atmosphere.

Do not jump to sex immediately but watch how your partner responds to your advances. This will help give you a clue as to whether they are good to go, or need sometime to get there. If they pull away or stop your hands, you know they need to be seduced more slowly. You don’t have to be aggressive; seductive and playful but deliberate coaxing can be very effective. Planning and executing a ‘sexual ambush’ with a loving attitude heaps loads of sexual satisfaction for either party.

Many times, I encourage wives to deliberately create an avenue for easy access when they are at home with their hubby. Do not over dress at home once in a while. Let your nipples peek out from your bra and be revealing under your night wear in an innocent way. It should be in a way that is unavoidably seen by your husband. This will give any sexual encounters a more spontaneous and erotic vibe. Even if you have had sex with your spouse hundreds of times you can still feel the newness of good sex. Husbands could encourage deep night talk or ‘secret time talk’.

This will help create incredible bonding for the woman. This also helps the man to have enough time to pay attention to the innermost feelings of his lady. By this the man will have more opportunity to make some adjustments here and there and tap into more profound emotion.

Ladies, There Is No Alternative To Breast Feeding

Working mothers face the challenge of breast- feeding their children up to the required six months and many factors contribute to this. Blessing Ukemena finds out from doctors why this breast milk is so important even as mothers lament what they pass through.
Only about 13 per cent of Nigerian children are exclusively breastfed for up to six months. This is according to a UNICEF research conducted in Nigeria in August 2012. A development which points to the fact that most Nigerian children are deprived of this essential form of nutrition.
Speaking to Dr. Folayun, a pediatrician at the Zankli Medical center, she said that working mothers rarely breastfeed their children to the required six months sometimes due to no fault of theirs. “The number one factor against this six months exclusive breastfeeding or ‘baby friendly’ is that most work places only give a period of three months maternity leave which is not enough.

If the baby needs to feed for six months and the mother’s leave is just three months after delivering, then there is a problem.

When she returns to work, she is under more stress and this will cause her not to lactate properly, that is, the milk flow will reduce. Another factor is that most work places are not baby friendly. Some mothers have been sacked because they brought their babies to work. Breastfeeding itself is not allowed in some work places and so mothers have to keep the baby with a nanny or in a day care center.” She said. Dr. Rita Idemudia , the Senior Consulting Pediatrician at the General Hospital, Wuse Zone 3 was of a different opinion.

In an interview with Leadership Sunday, she said that the lack of will and ignorance on the part of the mother are two factors that do not allow working mothers to breast feed their babies up to the required six months. “We have found that most mothers are not willing to do exclusive breast-feeding for six months because they just believe it cannot be done. Some say that the milk is not enough so they have to use substitutes.

As a mother, one has to make up her mind right from pregnancy period that she will breast feed till six months so that she will be prepared for any eventuality. Another thing is that most mothers are ignorant on how to properly place a child during breastfeeding. The baby has to be placed tummy to tummy with the mother.

She should be sitting comfortably with her hand supporting the baby’s bottom. As a working mother, you should also prepare your child for when you will resume work. First, you have to learn how much your baby needs per meal, be it 30 ml or 90ml then you can express the required breast milk into a sterilized feeder so that your baby will not be hungry when you leave him with a nanny”

Mrs Jane Nwafor is a mother of two boys and currently a house wife in the FCT. She told leadership sunday that she is exclusively breastfeeding her younger son who is about 5months old. “I could not do baby friendly with my older son because I was working then but now I am at home, I want to give my younger son only breast milk till he is six months old. It is not very easy because you have to eat very well yourself or you will be feeling dizzy all the time.” She stated.

Mrs. Jeremiah however said that her two children, who are boys, stopped taking breast milk after one month. “I don’t know why, but both my sons refused to take breast milk after one month. They just refused it, so I had to start giving them pap and baby formula. My mother told me that I had rejected breast milk myself so maybe it is hereditary”.

To this, Dr. Idemudia said that there are rare cases of children who wean themselves of breast milk but that the alternative is not to use substitutes but to express the milk in a feeder for the baby to take and if such continues, then the mother can go to health professionals for assistance.

Mrs Okenesi, a working mother who was at the Wuse General Hospital to get her baby immunised, said she now takes palm wine to help the flow of her breast milk. “I usually breast feed my babies exclusively till about 5months but it is not easy. Some weeks back I noticed that my breast milk was not flowing much and I was told to take more liquids. I took more tea than usual but it did not help so I decided to take palm wine and the breast milk is flowing well now. My baby who is now three months will take the milk to his satisfaction” she said.

Dr Idemudia also stated that there is no such thing as not enough breast milk for any child as God has made it in such a way that no matter the size of your breast there is enough for the baby.

She explained that breast milk is in two parts, the fore milk which contains more of water and the hind milk which has more fats and is the main meal for the child, “Most mothers say that the milk is not enough for the child but that is a wrong notion. If a mother keeps shifting the child from breast to breast the baby just gets the watery part of the milk from both breast as such the baby is often hungry, sleeps less and is more prone to disease. But a well fed child has high immunity against infections, he has all the nutrients to grow well and perform better in school than other kids that are not well breast fed.” She said.

Pastor Who Leads Armed Robbery Gang Killed

Men of the Nigeria Police in Cross River State on Saturday killed a popular preacher, Pastor John, in Akamkpa Local Government of the state, during a shootout with members of his gang of robbers.

Pastor John and his gang had raided some buildings in the residential quarters of lecturers of the Cross River College of Education on Saturday, dispossessing their victims of money and valuables. Three other suspected gang members were also arrested after a fierce gun duel that lasted into the night...

After the robbery operation, according to Punch, the gang converged on a drinking spot, not more than three kilometres from the scene of the robbery, to share their loot.

In the process of sharing their loot, according to a commercial motorcyclist who witnessed the scene, someone informed the police who immediately swooped on them and a gun battle ensued.

“When the police came there was an exchange of gun fire and one of them was killed, one escaped while three were arrested,” the motorcyclist, identified as Dennis Egom, said.

The pastor, Egom said, was well known in the area and was thought to be a real man of God until the incident.

“He got born again some years ago and was carrying Bible to preach to people and soon became a pastor in the church (name withheld) in 2011. But unknown to some of us who knew him as well as his followers and other residents, John was an armed robber whose real identity was revealed the day he was killed,” he said.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. John Umoh, confirmed the unfortunate incident.

D'banj goes down low.

Here's an article I read and found interesting. Written by publicist and entertainment business consultant, James Silas. Read the article below and share your thoughts afterwards.
D'banj Goes Down Low - By James Silas
Two years ago, it would have been almost impossible for D’Banj to do a collaboration with an Olamide even if the latter had attained this much attention with his music, but today D’Banj is struggling for another hit since “Oliver Twist”.
Once upon a time (October 14, 2010), I tweeted “Partnerships can hardly work, not unless you’re a duo like Don Jazzy and D’Banj”… this tweet was “favourited” by Don Jazzy. Then two years later (2012), the statement returned to me – void!

A D’BANJ topic at this point in time would arouse mixed feelings, especially amongst and within fans and pundits. Many would never come to an agreement while some would rather rest the case for another day. We cannot rule out the fact that most people including yours truly are yet to phantom the reality that the ‘Koko Master’ and his erstwhile buddy, Don Jazzy are no longer together – A creative and business divorce.

The breakup cleared arguments about Don Jazzy as a major influence and source of the quality and quantity of music that came from D’Banj. The source of the music was the least of my problem – I just loved what I heard from production to vocals and lyrics. Everything was fine. There’s no point going into the obvious – we all know the breakup story. The last song that was officially promoted on Mo’hits was “Oliver Twist”. It was and still is a monster hit across the world.

Before the rise of Mo’hits, D’Banj released his first set of songs “Kiss Me Again” ft. Ruggedman, “One More Time” and “Gba Si Be” ft. Abounce on OJB’s Silver Tones’ imprint.

The advent of Mo’hits and the growth of the D’Banj brand only gave ‘collabo access’ to label mates and close friends like Ikechukwu (Whine Am Well), Kas (Fimile Remix) and Banky W (Lagos Party Remix). The dynasty was very rigid in collaboration-related matters. We weren’t sure if it was Don Jazzy’s plot to protect D’Banj’s creative weakness or the latter’s personal choice. However, the release of “Mr. Endowed Remix” with Snoop Dogg in 2010 and the Kanye West-Good Music merger confirmed that D’Banj was not about the local league. He had a bigger dream.

Going over the changes that has transpired after Mo’hits’ breakup will be over-flogging the issue. A significant change on D’Banj’s side is his sudden presence on other artiste’s songs. The first was “Bad Pass (Tony Montana)” by Naeto C, followed by Iyanya’s “Kukere Remix”. The fact that these songs were already solo hits made his input less relevant especially at a time when fans and the industry at large expect more. Fally Ipupa was featured on “We The Best”, off D’Banj’s DKM Album, but the arrangement made it sound like D’Banj was the one featured.

So D’Banj is also cutting in on Olamide’s recent buzz and they have a song that will be released any time soon. I reckon this is a strategy of some sort to either sustain relevance or a random attempt to cop another hit outside Don Jazzy’s works.

The last Nation’s Cup, placed him on the Continent’s spotlight again but instead of unveiling a new song on that platform, he continues with the Don Jazzy produced “Oliver Twist”. In my opinion, the “Scape Goat Remix” with Kanye West is a waste of an opportunity. Additions like that are done when you are just paying (one off) for the guy to voice a verse or two on your already made song, but when you are a signed artiste on Good Music (especially when it’s a paid merger), creative time should be spent on a song for the sake of the fans and listening community.

Maybe it’s too early to expect much from D’Banj but I am worried for him already. This is a man who has three flawless albums and countless hit songs on his belt. Everything he touched in the past was gold and if one artiste was literally way ahead of his time, it was D’Banj. He is the only artiste who would drop his Glo Ambassadorship due to complications from renewal talks and fee. Even at that, the guy was not blabbing when he said “I make 10 million in a week…” on “Gbono Feli Feli” (2008). He is still one of the most awarded artistes of the last decade. I mean, if he drops the music today, his achievement may not be surpassed in years to come.

The mass influx of sounds and artistes in Nigeria today is enough to distract the most loyal of fans. Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie already has a lot of fans in Nigeria; same way new artistes are sprawling up every day to have a share of the cake.

I don’t how long we will have to wait for D’Banj but if the collaborations are intentional and strategic to fuel his relevance – let’s file! Don’t touch it!

Cancer Patient Kingsley Nwabueze Dies

Kingsley Nwabueze was a 6th year medical student in Lugansk State Medical University who had just about 2 months left to become a full medical Doctor. Unfortunately he was diagnosed with cancer of the liver and Nigerians helped raise funds for him to travel to India for treatment.

According to Kingsley Nwabuisi Health fund committee,
After arrival in India, the hospital started diagnostic procedures, while administering supportive therapy on him. His condition improved remarkably within the first 4 days in India and he began to feed and feel better. When all the results from diagnostic tests were out it was discovered that his hematologic and hemodynamic indices were very bad. Therefore, at the meeting of the Doctors last Thursday it was decided that all forms of invasive and radical therapies (including surgery) could not be commenced until these indices were brought under control.

On Saturday, his condition deteriorated. On Sunday he was transferred to the ICU of the hospital where efforts were made to control his vitals. Unfortunately the efforts of the doctors of the hospital were futile.

It is therefore with so much sorrow that we announce to us all that KINGSLEY NWABUISI DIED in the afternoon of yesterday, Sunday 5th day of May 2013.
It is indeed a very trying time for us all. We are sad that our efforts to keep him with us were in vain.

We thank you all for your contributions, support and prayers. We shall make an account of the funds collected so far. The excess funds we have remaining will be sent to his family to help them with funeral arrangements. May the eternal light of God shine on him and may God grant his soul a peaceful rest in Heaven. Amen.

Thank you
On behalf of Kingsley Nwabuisi Health fund committee

Laide Bakare's Marriage Collapses Beyond Repair

Our ladies in the movie industry in Nigeria just keep changing men like diapers:

The latest is popular Yoruba actress, Laide Bakare. She has finally confirmed that she is no longer married to her US based husband, Mr. Okunfulire.
We would like to announce to the general public on behalf of Nollywood star actress, Laide Bakare that she has officially opted out of her relationship with Mr. Okunfulire, her former husband.

While it lasted, the actress showed the utmost level of maturity, in spite of the “glaring injustice’ from her former husband. Laide has endured the marriage with Mr. Okunfulire to whom she displayed total affection.
But things fell apart when she discovered that she was indeed married to a man with a legally married wife and two children not a single man she thought he was as told her by Mr. Okunfulire when the relationship started.

But, being a celebrity who has become a model to young persons in the society, coupled with the need to exercise decorum, she has kept fate with the marriage until lately when she could no longer continue and then called it quit.

Her former union with Mr. Okunfulire produced a beautiful child, Similoluwa who is nicknamed Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Laide has just entered into a new relationship with a Lagos based popular businessman, Mr. Tunde Oriowo. The relationship began late last year and culminated in the lovers officially sealing it with the Muslim rites called Nikkai, at a quiet ceremony in Lagos attended by trusted associates and close family members from both sides.

Laide Bakare and Mr. Tunde Oriowo who both are currently holidaying in the United States of America, will be holding the wedding proper with a big bash before the end of 2013.

Don Jazzy Cries Out, They Want To Run Me Down Shuts Down His Night Club

This is a good lesson on how not to venture into a business you know next to nothing about:
Since Don Jazzy put his money into night club business things have not been the same for him. In fact it has really affected him even in his popular trade, music production, that he hardly produces a great beat these days. Maurice blog gathered that he has finally shut down his PoP night club...
His reason is that people were trying to wreck him, rather than support the business to grow. Most of those who frequent Don Jazzy's club take expensive drinks without paying while others, especially ladies, simply go to the club to take pictures with Don Jazzy with a view to show same to their boyfriends.
Don Jazzy kept pumping money into the business but nothing was coming out. An insider told Olufamous.com that he is angry with so many people whose names are on the list of debtors in his club but have decided to shut the place down in order not to pick a fight with anyone.
