Justus Esiri and Segun Arinze are Olympic medalists
AT a time Nigerian athletes were still struggling to etch Nigeria’s name on the medal table, notable actor Justus Esiri and his junior colleague, former President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria Segun Arinze have already received what one waka pass described as ‘a side Olympic medal’. Both Esiri and Arinze who were in London as part of the cast of Fred Agbeyegbe’s King Must Dance Naked as directed by Bayo Oduneye and packaged by New World Entertainment for the Bank of Industry (BOI) and Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) were robbed separately in their Travelodge Hotel camp in Surrey. While Esiri lost his monies and international passport, it was an iPad (don’t know now whether it is iPad 1 or 2) that the ‘side medal thieves’ collected from Arinze in his hotel room. Waka pass gathered that the matter has been reported to the police and that they are on the case. Problem now is how Esiri, an Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) will return to Nigeria without his passport? One waka pass is suggesting that ‘the village headmaster’ (that’s Esiri) should just apply for stay in UK and cite providence as reason. Shooooooeeeeeeee! To God be the Glory.
