After months of intense and meticulous preparation, heavy publicity
and feverish anticipation, American renowned rapper, Rick Ross will be
storming the country this Friday, August 17, 2012 for Summer Jam Fest, a
concert many have dubbed as the biggest concert of the year 2012.
Summer Jam Fest 2012 which will hold at the New Expo Hall, Eko Hotel,
Victoria Island, Lagos is organized by popular magazine, St. Eve and
will see the Florida native who made headlines with his debut album in
2006 titled ‘’Port of Miami’’ headline the music concert alongside rave
of the moment West African musicians like Flavour, Azonto crooner, ODG
Fuse, Terry G, Eva Alordiah. Respected DJ, Cool DJ Jimmy Jatt will be
manning the turntable.
Already, fans of the American rapper have indicated that they cannot wait for the arrival of the God forgives, I don’tcrooner.
Tunji, a banker with a new generation bank while speaking on his
eagerness about the concert said, “Rick Ross is a great rap artist. From
his Port of Miami album to Deeper than rap through God forgives, I
don’t, I have been following the phenomenon called Rick Ross; so you can
imagine the excitement when I heard he was coming to Nigeria. Can’t
wait to be at the concert.”
Speaking on the concert, a representative of St. Eve magazine said
“Summer Jam Fest 2012 is geared to set the tone for an annual concert to
promote health and proper lifestyle, and this year, some of the hottest
Nigerian artists of the year will be performing alongside Rick Ross. St
Eve Concepts aims to promote healthy living through music and
entertainment.”
It will be recalled that Rick Ross released his fifth studio
album God Forgives, I Don’t earlier this year and also collaborated with
hit Nigerian duo P-Square on the remix of the well-known song
“Beautiful Oyinye, a song that has dominated the airwaves since it
debuted.
Rick Ross first made headlines with his debut album in 2006 titled
‘’Port of Miami’’ an album which debuted at the top spot on the
Billboard 200 album chart, with sales at 187,000 units after its first
week.
