Domestic Violence Model Shares Her Experience

I came across this heart-breaking story shared by a beautiful model, Gabriella Bambii; she’s a survivor of domestic violence and it happened with a boy she dated for 8 months.

She shared the sad story and a graphic photo of her badly injured face/body below:
This might be a little graphic but I just want to let everyone know that I am okay. I am a survivor of domestic violence with a boy I dated for 8 months.
I really thought everything was fine but he constantly questioned me about cheating and flirting. Non sense. I never looked at someone the way he looked at me. Thought I loved this boy.

How can someone that 'loves' me do this to me? The scars on my chest are way worse and extend down to my right nipple, completely scarred. The skin on my shoulder has been completely skinned. And i have bruising on my rib cage, neck, and my muscles.

I was kicked out of a moving vehicle, then beaten and dragged, as I blacked out and was left lying there in my own puddle of blood.

Doctors said I could have died if I had not made it when I did. I am so blessed and beyond lucky to be alive and have so much support from friends, family, and strangers.

As I try to recover, I ask you to please keep me in your prayers. I have to wear a neck brace for 3-4 weeks, an arm cast and I can barely walk for now. Thank you for all the love. I hope to be an inspiration to women and anyone involved in domestic violence.

Reasons Why Good Women Date Bad Boys

In my work as a relationship coach and blogger, I hear it over and over again ... yet, at some level, it still takes me by surprise: Why do so many really smart, accomplished and attractive women go for "bad boys" or Alpha males? In other words, why does someone who has the potential to be an incredible catch sabotage herself with such poor choices?

An Alpha male is a man who owns himself, a leader of the pack. He is internally-driven and certain of who he is and what he wants. It is the very essence of masculine energy so it's no surprise that feminine energy finds it so appealing.

The downside of the Alpha is he can sometimes be self-obsessed, insensitive, jealous, controlling, perhaps even demeaning or violent in extreme cases. The downside for those who are in relationships with that type of guy is because so many women respond primitively to his darker, masculine energy, he has more choices available to him and is often unfaithful. Perhaps the best real-life example of this scenario is actress Sandra Bullock and her ex-husband, motorcycle bad boy Jesse James, who publicly split after his serial infidelity was revealed in 2010.
Recently, a woman asked the question that prompted me to write this article. She described herself as "a very type A female." She went on to say "I always assumed that I'd need an Alpha male in my life ... to bring out more of my feminine side." She went even further, saying that although she and Alpha men "get" one another because they are strong enough to "take" her, these men are also the cheaters, verbal/emotional abusers or worse.
I was really glad she asked her question for two reasons: (1) because the same problem affects so many smart, accomplished women, and (2) because I can explain what this phenomenon is all about. For starters, this very bright woman, and those like her, are operating under a huge, false assumption that sabotages their romantic prospects. Not only that, it will continue to sabotage them over and over — until they change it.

$20billion Still Missing From Crude Oil Sales

The Nigerian Senate Committee on Finance began its hearing on Tuesday investigating how crude oil monies are missing from the Nigerian federation account, with no reasonable action by the Presidency.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi told lawmakers that after reconciliation between the CBN, the Ministry of Finance and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, the money that is about $20bn remains unaccounted for by the NNPC.
Governor Sanusi added the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation had shipped Naira 10 trillions ($67billions) worth of crude oil in 2012-2013, and had only accounted for Naira 7 trillion ($47billion) worth. Out of the N10trillion ($67billion), the Federal Inland Revenue Service had confirmed receiving N2.6 trillion ($16billion) in taxes.
The biggest contention according to sources is NNPC's claim that it received about N976billion ($6billion) from exporting crude on behalf of the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) Ltd., an NNPC subsidiary which is said to be farming oil blocks retrieved from Shell.
Lawmakers are investigating the allegations made that NNPC officials are withholding large amounts from crude oil exports from the Federation account.

Sanusi contends that during the period 2012-2013, the NNPC sliced off 76% of crude oil proceeds - a total of N8 trillion ($48.9 billion).

The Ministry of Finance, Director of Budget, Bright Okogu, told lawmakers the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) and the Central Nigerian Bank had reconciled the figures, and most of the missing monies had been spent on kerosene subsidies during the period.

The PPPRA claimed it bought kerosene for N150 per liter, and selling it for N40 per liter.

CBN's Governor Sanusi contradicted this account, telling lawmakers the late President, Umaru Yar-Adua had cancelled the kerosene subsidy in a presidential directive.

The NNPC was said to have handed over an oil block to Atlantic Energy Drilling Concept, a company said to be owned by Jide Omokore, a businessman from Kogi, with ties to President Jonathan and the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Allison-Madueke.

The NNPC exported N976billion ($6 billion) worth of crude oil through the NPDC on behalf of Atlantic. They are still unable to account for the proceeds.

According to another source, the NNPC hasn't been able to explain the deposit of dollar based oil sales of about Naira 488 billion ($3 billion), deposited in local currency.

According to sources, the practice is for NNPC officials to bring in dollars and sell them to banks and bureau de change operators, each transaction makes the Minister of Petroleum N9billion each time they bring in $3billion (N488billion) and sell to local banks directly.

They then turn around to deposit the Naira, at official rates, into the Federation account instead of depositing the proceeds directly into the dollar-based domiciliary account of the federal government in New York.

Sources say the Presidency is trying to influence the outcome of the hearing by covering the fraud.

Atiku’s Desperation For Presidency Will Make Him Go Anywhere, Do Anything – Clark

Edwin-Kiagbodo-ClarkIjaw National leader and former Federal Commissioner for Information, Chief Edwin Clark yesterday berated former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to All Progressives Congress, APC, saying he is a politically ambitious wanderer.
Clark, who admitted that there were a possible number of reasons why Atiku dumped the PDP for APC, was however, quick to add that the Adamawa-born politician forgot that he was a founding member of the ruling party and one time Vice President of Nigeria.
Speaking at his Asokoro Residence in Abuja when a group of Niger-Delta protesters under the aegis, Coalition of Urhobo Nation Youth Leaders and Stakeholders led by a civil rights activist, Mr. Rex Anigboro, led a protest to him over what they termed, marginalization of Urhobo people in federal appointments, Clark, who explained that Atiku leaving the PDP was uneventful, however described him as a politician desperate for the Presidency and “will go to anywhere and will do anything”.
Speaking further on the former VP’s defection, the elder statesman said, “Atiku’s defection is not an event, it is uneventful because of his ambition to become President at all times. He will go to anywhere and will do anything. He now believes that one day he will be President, even though he is telling people that he is not interested in the Presidency. That is his main aim of going to APC and you will soon see it. Atiku will soon want to contest the 2015 Presidential election.
“While he was Vice President, Atiku formed a party and contested election as a Presidential candidate. The Supreme Court allowed him to do so and he came back to PDP. The Governor of Adamawa State said he did not return to the party but came to the national Headquarters where he may have been granted certain concessions.
“So Atiku had problems with his people in his state, he has not been steady. If he was not ambitious because of Presidency and so on, the former President of this country under whom he worked as Vice President, Olusegun Obasanjo would not have tormented him and almost charging him to Court. There is nothing he didn’t do and he called him several names like thief and removed all the powers, including security, from him. The same Atiku will go to Obasanjo’s house in Otta and want to be part of the same political system.
“The five Governors who who were championing against the PDP, Mr. President and the (former) national chairman of the party were all boys of Obasanjo. Everybody knows that there was no way they were going to allow Atiku to be President of this country because Obasanjo will not allow it. But now, he has gone to APC and very soon you will know what will happen.
“His going to APC is uneventful and nobody cares about it. He has been moving from party to party. He formed PDP; he cannot deny to Nigerians that he didn’t form Peoples Democratic Movement as a party. He paid for it, the records are there and the evidence is there. One would have expected him not to leave PDP. Very soon, you will hear that PDM has joined APC. That is his intention, he wants to join APC and then bring PDM to join APC. So one is not worried, Nigeria is greater than any individual, no individual can hold Nigeria to ransom”.
On 2015 Presidency, Clark, who noted that every Nigerian was qualified to be President, provided they possess the competence and necessary qualification, stressed that for one to be President of Nigeria, “you must learn to serve before people will serve you and that is the position”.
Not done with his criticism of the former VP’s latest political move, Clark who noted that he never expected that Atiku would take late President Umaru Yar’Adua to Court after the 2011 election, having regard to the close relationship between late General Shehu Yar’Adua and Atiku, said, “Infact, he visited their mother when he was campaigning against Umaru Yar’Adua to show how close they were. One would have expected that after the elections, even when he claimed the elections were rigged, he should not have gone to court.
“I wrote him a personal letter which I copied to the late Yar’Adua and Yar’Adua replied me begging Atiku not to pursue his case. He didn’t hear, so when it comes to Presidency, nobody can pin down Atiku from going to anywhere.
“That is Atiku, you remember how he fought Obasanjo and both of them were accusing each other of spending money belonging to Petroleum Technology Development Fund. So people should know what they want for themselves; they should leave Nigeria alone to grow. There are so many people in this country and that is why we want national conference”.

Fraudulent Allocations In 2014 Budget (Senator)

SENATOR BABAFEMI OJUDU
SENATOR BABAFEMI OJUDU
Senator Babafemi Ojudu, representing Ekiti Central senatorial district, may have uncovered a massive fraud in the 2014 Appropriation Bill presently before National Assembly.
The Executive Arm had last December submitted a budget proposal of N4.77 trillion separately before both chambers of the National Assembly but Mr. Ojudu, contributing to the debate on the piece of legislation at plenary yesterday, told his colleagues that he compared the 2014 budget with those of 2012 and 2013 only to discover that there was no significant difference between the 2014 budget and the two previous ones.
He accused the Budget Office of the Federal Ministry of Finance of lifting word for word, the two previous budgets without making any alteration. He noted that there was no creativity in the budgeting process, adding that the process goes on year in year out without any serious thoughts going into it.
Recalling the times when Nigeria used to have meaningful development plans, Senator Ojudu stated that the country’s budget was no longer aimed at solving the country’s problems but merely serves as a ruse to enrich the pockets of corrupt government officials.
According to the All Progressives Congress, APC senator, development plans for Nigeria grounded to a halt in 1986 and ever since, he argued the country’s budget has emphasized recurrent expenditures which are easy to release and manipulate for personal purposes by civil servants.
He noted that in the 2014 budget, as in the 2012 and 2013 budgets, the recurrent allocation for computer software acquisition, local and foreign travels, welfare package, as well as local and foreign training amounted to billions of Naira.
Mr. Ojudu cited the example of the budgetary allocation for computer software, which is at N10 billion. He added that all ministries, departments and agencies of the Federal Government have allocations for computer software acquisition to the tune of at least N10 million, with the highest allocation of N580 million for the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. The allocations, he indicated, are no different from those of 2012 and 2013.
Senator Ojudu faulted the allocation for Research and Development which cuts across all MDAs, including those with no research departments, wondering if they have suddenly turned into universities or research institutions.
The full research and development allocation stand at N45 billion.
“These are not universities or research agencies. What are they researching? It is this wasteful budgeting that has shot up the recurrent expenditure to 75%. It is incumbent on us as lawmakers, if we are truly for the people, to remove all avenues of waste from this year’s budget. If we fail to do so, we would not have justified the reason for [their] electing us into the Senate”, Mr. Ojudu argued.
Not a few Nigerians have picked holes with the 2014 budget since it was made public but the Goodluck Jonathan administration has remained steadfastly committed to it, with the president only just last week calling on the National Assembly to ensure its speedy passage.
